I want to start growing fresh herbs for cooking rather than buying them at the store but I'm not sure how to begin. Do they just like, sell them in pots at Home Depot or something? Are there certain caring procedures you gotta follow to make sure bugs don't get at 'em? Is it even feasible in Southern California? It seems like a lot.

Any tips?
