4 - roleplaying games

If we take the words literally, any game where you are not playing As Yourself is a kind of "role-playing game". But of course we all know that's not quite what's meant; at some point it meant "game with character attributes that numerically increase" or perhaps "game with a story".

(Aside: I'm instantly showing my inexperience with TTRPGs with that line. I'd like to play them more, but well, you know.)

Anyway, I'm certainly not here to quibble over definitions, but I couldn't think of anything else to say about roleplaying games at 8:45 AM on a Saturday. Check out my Big CRPG Listicle I guess. Have a good one.
