29 - ghosts

Not all media needs to be for me, but I don't really understand the appeal of "ghost hunter" shows, which broadly appear to be just some guys screaming in an abandoned warehouse or tunnel or what have you. At least watching a streamer play a horror game carries with it the implicit knowledge of the game being specifically crafted to induce those reactions and that the paranormal demonstrably exists within the fiction. Does the hypothetical watcher (or the crew) of a ghost hunter show actually expect to find ghosts? I feel like it has to be just be all a performance to get big wacky reactions, right?

I guess that's just "reality TV" in general, come to think of it.
