26 - you're turning into your mother

For MicroBlogVember

Don't I fucking know it.

As I've learned more about my ADHD and about related forms of neurodivergence, I'm come to understand some of the reasons my mother acts the way she does. Easily distracted, poor working memory, bad with social cues... once I got diagnosed and started to see the signs, it hit me like a truck. And I already knew that my uncle has ADHD!

I noted in the "what's for dinner" post that when I learned about autistic "safe foods", some of these pieces started to click into place. There can be a lot of symptom overlap between ASD and ADHD, but I'm pretty sure I "only" have ADHD while I think she might have both? I'm not a psychiatrist. Who knows.
